This process is called ‘crawling’ and once the bot returns, it relays the information back, where it’s sorted (or ‘indexed’) by various factors – which SEO plays a role in meeting. While this is a powerful and useful effect though, it's actually only one part of what content marketing is about. Most companies use SEO to increase website traffic, which in turn, increases revenue. We want to get links. At one time, directories like DMOZ were a good place to add listings and get backlinks. However, these large web directories aren’t really relevant anymore. However, care should be taken to avoid placing irrelevant keywords in these tags as this may result in your website being penalized.
